Deisy + Derick | Woodinville

It was such an honor to document this romantic, rainy, fall wedding in Seattle. Deisy and Derick, Kirkland couple, absolutely radiate kindness, love, and faith. And capturing every special moment of their beautiful, rustic, September wedding was a pleasure. Deisy and Derick are an open, warm, and friendly pair; and very clearly head over heels in love with each other. I knew immediately that they would have a romantic wedding day full of love and laughter.

A rustic Seattle venue

For their Seattle wedding, Deisy and Derick selected an outdoor, rustic, farm venue, full of the natural beauty of the PNW. Deisy chose her flowers, bridal party colors, and details in lovely peaches and greens. Throughout the day the couple’s faith and love of God were evident in every detail. They exchanged heartfelt vows in front of a gathering of family and close friends led by their pastor who knew them well. The rain held off for the outdoor wedding ceremony until the very end. As the bride and groom turned to walk back up the aisle, the rain started to fall. Deisy and Derick said their more private, personal vows after the ceremony in front of their wedding party holding umbrellas printed with “love is in the air”.

A joyful event

Even heavy Seattle rain couldn’t dampen the joy of the day. The couple reserved their first look for Deisy’s walk down the aisle. Couple, wedding party, and family formal photos were taken after the ceremony and the fall showers were no problem for this group. They were so good natured and laughed the whole way through the wet portrait session. And we ended up with a gallery full of fun photos that reflected all of the joy and personality of the day. After the formal portraits were taken, the reception followed in a nearby covered space. There, guests enjoyed a delicious Mexican buffet with a candy and fruit table. All set with homemade centerpieces and reflective of Deisy’s heritage. Later, heartfelt speeches, delicious cake, and lively dancing added to the celebration.

Love, laughter, family, friends, and faith filled Deisy and Derick’s day from start to finish. Despite the rain, their love shone brightly. Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of commitment and perfect for them. I wish these two a life full of blessings. And I am so grateful to have been able to capture the beginning of it and deliver photos for them to treasure for a lifetime.
