Julie | Lake Washington High School
Julie’s golden hour summer photo shoot was an absolute dream! From stunning outfit choices and gorgeous styling to a sun drenched Seattle location, this session tops my list of favorites. Add to all that her perfectly coordinated sister for some family photos! What a sweet, fun, and a beautiful reflection of this lovely senior.
Location
This Lake Washington High School senior chose the upper portion of Discovery Park in Seattle for her senior photo shoot. She wanted open fields with light grass, sand, water views, and trees. With this in mind a summer golden hour photo shoot at this park would offer the most ethereal and dreamy atmosphere and plenty of room for Julie to shine. The warm, soft light complimented this senior’s style choices beautifully and golden hour magic helped create the most amazing portraits. We started our session by finding a quiet space nestled in the tall grass fields. As the sun moved lower, we made our way to the bluff for water views. Finally, we caught just a few more photos at the very top of the park at the lovely rock wall overlooking it all.
Styling selections
Julie did a fantastic job selecting outfits for her photo shoot! I love that she came with plenty of options, different styles, and of course coordinating with her sister was a great addition. To begin with, we decided to start out with her flowy white dress and brown boots. The light colored fields together with the open scenery created a light and airy feel with lots of movement. This dress matched nicely with her sister’s light pants, knit top, and sweater. I love that they were coordinated but not too matchy matchy!! Next up was a more fitted black dress together with cute ankle boots. Boots were a really smart choice in a park with lots of walking, uneven ground, and prickly plants! After the black dress was a more casual jeans and white top look. When it started to cool off, Julie added a plaid shirt for walking in between locations and it was so cute that I had to catch a few photos of that as well! Finally, we saved Julie’s cheer uniform for last and I’m so glad she brought it along! I absolutely love including something that represents an important part of high school life.
Checking all the boxes!
Julie’s golden hour senior photo shoot without a doubt checked off all the boxes to make this a memorable senior portrait experience. Well planned styling, including loved ones in photos, something to represent important high school memories, lovely golden hour timing, and a location that delivered the look and feel she wanted.
