Artist Point – Snoqualmie National Forest
Artist Point at Mount Baker in the Snoqualmie National Forest offered the most breathtaking views for an adventurous and epic engagement photo shoot. From this remarkable location, visitors can see views of Mount Shuksan, Mount Baker, the Cascades, and North peaks. Leah and Josh were dreaming of a place that would show off the incredible beauty that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. And Artist Point truly delivered the most stunning views as a backdrop for this beautiful couple.
Timing and Getting to Artist Point
For the most amazing lighting, we wanted to time our visit to Mount Baker for either sunrise or sunset (golden hour). To avoid any crowds, we decided on sunrise. In late September, that meant an arrival time of 6:30am! And it was well worth the early wake up call. The drive to Artist Point from the Seattle area is about 3 hours and will take you through small winding backroads. It is at the end of Mount Baker Highway (state route 542), and even the drive is full of stunning views. Be sure to have your meeting place set and navigation ready to go! There won’t be cell service as you near your destination.
Dressing for Mountaintop Engagement Photos
Even during the summer, it can be chilly at Artist Point! Leah and Josh brought jackets and layers to stay comfortable during the short hikes between our photo shoot locations. I suggest planning at least two outfits for any photo session. Leah and Josh started their session with a more formal outfit and changed into jeans and matching tennis shoes for their second. I brought a portable changing tent to make the switch easy and comfortable. I loved Leah’s blue dress! And the matching tennis shoes were such a great touch with their casual outfits.
Epic Engagement Photos
I’m so thrilled with Leah and Josh’s epic gallery of engagement images at Artist Point. It shows off their fun, adventurous personalities and beautiful love for each other. I enjoyed every moment getting to know this wonderful couple, while taking in one of the most stunning photography locations in the area. I’m counting down the days to their wedding!
