Angelina | Issaquah

Summers at Bellevue Botanical Garden are a beautiful place for senior pictures. I was happy that Angelina chose this lovely spot. Nestled in the city of Bellevue, it always amazes me how much of an escape the park is. Wandering the paths, it never feels like there could be tall buildings just around the corner. I had such a nice time exploring with Angelina!

Garden variety and layers

One of my favorite things about the Bellevue Botanical Garden is how many different looks we can get. The park is plenty big, but not so much that we can’t make our way around all the little gardens in the time we have. I like to head straight down to the suspension bridge first to take advantage of the light. Angelina chose her more casual outfit for this portion of our session. It worked perfectly with the more muted tones of the forest and bridge. Then we walked back up to explore the upper sections of the park. In August, there are so many pretty varieties of flowers and plants to fill out the gardens and paths. Two of my favorites, dahlias and hydrangeas, were gorgeous for Angelina’s session. Her sunny yellow dress was so pretty amongst the flowers!

Golden garden light

When timed right, the light in the Bellevue garden is stunning. And the layers of different trees, flowers, and plants creates the perfect screen for the light to filter through. It all results in some of my favorite photos with a dreamy, soft, romantic look. The warm light looked so pretty catching the highlights in Angelina’s hair. And her long waves added to the effect. If you are planning your senior portrait session and want full flower beds, glowing light, and warm evenings; consider summer at the garden. Every corner is filled with beauty.
