The Ultimate Wedding Photography Details Checklist
To get the most beautiful wedding day details photos possible, you first need to know what to pack for your photographer! My couples always receive a guide and checklist inside of their Wedding Photography Guide magazine that I send after booking their date with me. It is much less stressful to start putting items in a box throughout the planning journey! That way, you will have much fewer things to remember on the day of your wedding. And that frees more time for you to simply enjoy your special day!
My photography on a wedding day normally begins with the details! This is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day, because it allows me to get creative and set the tone for the rest of the day. I photograph details in a way that matches the style and mood of the entire wedding day. I love how that allows me to include details images in a couple’s album seamlessly, artistically, and beautifully.

What Your Photographer Will Bring
Most photographers will bring a kit full of items to make your wedding day detail photos really shine and look their best. Here is what I bring to a wedding:
- Mats in various colors and patters to set items on
- Ribbon
- Ring boxes
- Dishes
- Blocks to elevate items for dimension
- Linen stamps
- Wax seals and stamp
- Basic colored envelopes
- Extra pretty details that I think will suit your wedding style

Final Notes
Although it can feel unnecessary to set aside so many little items for wedding day details, I promise you it’s worth it! If you don’t have a ton of pieces, simply collect what you do have. You will be surprised at what a big difference these photos can make in your wedding albums. And, finally, have a little fun with it! Feel free to include extra items that you think might be a fun addition to wedding detail photos. A great wedding photographer can look through everything and create beautiful and artistic images with them.
