Seattle Area Senior Portrait Sessions With Twins

There are so many amazing ways to plan senior portrait sessions for twins in the Seattle area! As a senior photographer, every year I have at least one set of twins in front of my camera. And this year I photographed three separate sets of twins! Each and every time, we work together to come up with the perfect custom session to create the look and experiences they are dreaming of.

Separate Sessions for Twins

Some twins have completely different locations, looks, and experiences in mind for their senior pictures. And that’s okay! There is no rule book that says you have to plan on a photoshoot together. The pair below decided to book two separate sessions in different months and at different locations. This allowed them to show their individuality and have a senior session experience independent from each other.

Sharing a Senior Session

Both my Bestie and Platinum senior packages work well for twins who want to share a session at the same time. Both include plenty of images to select for their final galleries. There is also enough time for two seniors with several outfits to change into. And just because you will be sharing a session, does not mean you won’t be able to show your individual style. While twins are welcome to coordinate, I encourage each one to plan their wardrobe to suit and flatter their individuality. Before a session, I will talk with seniors about how they envision dividing the time. What usually happens: I photograph each senior separately in an outfit and then get a few together. Then we move on to the next planned outfit. This allows us to get photos of the twins separately and together in each of their looks.

The two sets of twins below decided to lightly coordinate their outfits. By choosing styles and colors that complimented each other but weren’t too strictly matching, they created a nice cohesive look.

Separate Sessions – With Time for a Few Twin Photos

The next set of twins decided to book two separate senior sessions, with a planned time to get a few twin pictures together. Each wanted a very different location at different times. But they were also hoping to have a few pictures together. So, we planned a time for the first senior to meet up with us at the end of his brother’s session for just a few portrait moments together. The result was two independent experiences and looks, with some special twin memories as well.

Brother and Sister Twin Sets

All of the same options above work just as well for brother/sister sets of twins. The next set decided to have their sessions at the same time at Bellevue Botanical Garden. I made sure to spend time with each independently and allowed for enough time for photos together as well. This botanical garden works really well for brother and sister sets! It has so many different background options that suit anyone – boy or girl.

Senior sessions with your twin can be a fun and special experience! And there are more than a few ways to plan it. Just like any senior photoshoot, I take the time to plan a special session to suit your individual style and personality. So whether you have a session at the same time, or entirely separate, you will get photos you have been dreaming of.
