Andrew | Redmond High School

I had a great time with Andrew and his family for his September senior session in North Bend. I always have fun chatting with senior guys about their sports and what they are hoping to do as they head off to college. Andrew is a lacrosse player and so I enjoyed talking with an older boy who plays a sport that my son plays. For his session, Andrew chose a river location and another spot with a nice open meadow for a view of the mountain. I love that his mom and brother wanted to join him and get a few family photos as well. That makes for an even more special senior picture experience for the whole group.

The Snoqualmie River

The Snoqualmie River has quite a few areas that work well for senior photos. In early September the river is still usually low enough for there to be quite a bit of exposed rock. I love the look of it for seniors. It has such a nice rustic, natural feel. It provides some perfect areas to sit and the neutral colors reflect the light beautifully. We lucked out with a gorgeous evening for Andrew’s session. Lots of sunshine and warm light the entire time.

Views of Mt Si

After a couple of outfits and a few family photos at the river, we went to our second location. I really love this spot for beautiful mountain views and the open meadow. It isn’t as busy as some other areas which can be a bonus for seniors who would prefer to avoid an audience. You will often see herds of elk grazing at this spot which can be so amazing during a senior session. I sometimes head out there with my kids to hike around and watch the elk. Andrew switched back to his first shirt but paired it with some long pants instead of the shorts. I’m so glad he brought his lacrosse stick along. Even if you aren’t sure whether or not you would like to pose with a prop, bring something along just in case. Especially if you have something to represent a meaningful activity in your life.

I’m happy with the variety of looks we got this session and it was nice to be able to include family. I always try to keep moving along for guys if they are hoping to keep it a little more brief.
