Shellie | Lake Washington High School
For Shelli’s early September senior session we chose Marymoor Park in Redmond for it’s picturesque and versatile backdrops. From manicured parks to rustic fields and water, this Redmond park has a little bit of everything. We enjoyed walking through several different areas and Shelli planned a few quick outfit and shoe changes to bring even more diversity to her final gallery. At the very start of September, we ended up with gorgeous summer weather perfect for the look she was hoping for.
Marymoor manicured park setting
Near Clise Mansion and the old windmill, Marymoor Park has a lovely manicured park area. This location adds a completely different look and feel to senior portraits than other areas of the park. We loved the old iron gate, brick structures, benches, flowers, and trees. The cut grass, tidy flower beds, and pruned trees give the atmosphere a wonderful garden party vibe.
Rustic and rural aesthetic
There are some beautiful trails in Marymoor that are perfect for a rustic and rural aesthetic. Shelli asked about a trail that she thought would be exactly what she was hoping for. And I totally agreed that it would be ideal! It had so many different elements to add to her gallery. Trees, open fields, tall grass, trees, bridge, dock, and water. So many elements on one trail. We made our way down to the water and back with stops along the way, and I couldn’t be happier with how many stunning images she ended up with!
Well planned outfits and styling
This Kirkland senior did an amazing job planning her outfits and styling. I loved her variety of dresses, mix of shoe choices, and simple hair and makeup. Shelli chose to begin with a pretty yellow and pink floral dress perfect for a garden party look. She swapped out her shoes for a couple of different looks with the one dress. It’s always a great idea to bring extra shoes and accessories along to your session! Changing shoes or adding an accessory is a really quick way to add variety. For the more rustic portion of our photo shoot, Shelli brought both a white dress and ruffled floral one. She also had a couple pairs of cowboy boots which I absolutely loved!!
