Washington Estate Bridal Portraits

May 11, 2024

Bridal portraits are one of my favorite sessions to photograph. And this bridal portrait session at a Washington estate was just stunning. A romantic, sophisticated, classic bridal look and images meant to treasure for a lifetime. Bridal portraits are something I encourage every bride to consider.

What are Bridal Portraits?

Bridal portraits are a time for the focus to be entirely on the bride. Traditionally, bridal portraits are scheduled before your wedding date. And they can be an excellent time to complete hair and makeup trials and make sure your wedding dress alterations are perfect. However, extra time can be built into your wedding day timeline to accommodate them as well. Whether you do bridal portraits on the day of your wedding or before, you should have your wedding gown on, hair and makeup done, bouquet, jewelry, and any hairpieces and/or veil. This way your entire wedding day look can be captured beautifully.

Time for the bride to shine

Bridal portraits are a special time for the bride to enjoy her dress, beautiful details, and completed hair and makeup. Some brides enjoy having friends and family around during their portraits. It can be a fun event to enjoy. If you aren’t a fan of an audience during photo sessions, it’s okay to ask for a more private session. I am always happy to create the atmosphere that is most comfortable and enjoyable for my brides. And the goal is to feel confident and beautiful in your wedding look.

Romantic vineyard estate bridal portrait setting

The setting for this bridal portrait session was nothing short of stunning. With an ivy covered estate, a romantic balcony, and acres of vineyards, every background was beautiful. When considering a location for bridal portraits, it’s important to think about the overall look you are hoping to achieve. I work with my brides to choose a location that reflects the aesthetic of her wedding. If your portraits will be on the day of your wedding, it can be a wonderful idea to make use of the event space, private gardens, walkways, steps, seating areas, balconies, and the bridal suite. Most importantly, choose a space where you feel comfortable. You are the focus of bridal portraits and when you feel joyful and confident, your photos will reflect your personality and beauty.
