Jack + Jack | Redmond High School
Redmond friends, Jack and Jack, planned their senior pictures together and I’m so glad they did. Summertime river and mountain photos in North Bend have the perfect laid back vibe for a couple of senior guys. Senior pictures aren’t always at the top of high school boys’ list of favorite things to do. Getting photos done with a friend helps make the experience fun and relaxed. And these locations have a great natural and outdoorsy feel!
Riverfront Pictures
We started our session at one of my favorite river parks. In the summer, the river is low enough to expose plenty of nice river rock. The rock, water, green foliage, and trees are a nice backdrop for senior photos. And the larger rocks make perfect places for the guys to sit for relaxed and natural poses. There is also a wood fence that I love to add a rustic feel to some photos. Sitting, leaning on something, or having a place to put their hands is helpful in getting much more laid back and authentic expressions.
Mountain location
The view of Mount Si in North Bend gives senior pictures a timeless and adventurous appeal. Mountains can symbolize strength, perseverance, and the journey ahead. It makes them a perfect backdrop for seniors celebrating everything they have accomplished in high school and the exciting road they have ahead. I like that the guys both chose simple outfits that suited their locations. Khaki pants, neutral shoes, and white and black shirts were a nice choice for both river and mountain photos.
For senior guys, keeping portrait sessions relaxed and brief can be key. Planning locations that are more adventurous and rustic with plenty of places to sit and lean also helps in bringing out natural and authentic expressions. Planning senior pictures with a photographer who specializes in them is also key. Your photographer will be able to help you choose the perfect location and help you feel at ease with photos. After every portrait session with guys I hear how surprised they are that it was fun, easy, and relaxed.
